The SKILL (Seeking Knowledge In Life’s Lessons) Program is a one – year Christian Discipleship/Rehabilitation Program for men with addictions to drugs, alcohol, gambling, or any other addiction they may have. The SKILL Program teaches men that they can get free from their addictions through the power of Christ.
While in the SKILL Program, the men have their minds, bodies, and heart reconditioned to fall into the WILL of God! This is accomplished by teaching the men in these areas:
- Our Minds: We offer addiction classes to teach the men how the mind and their “stinking thinking” has gotten them into trouble and what to do to prevent it from reoccurring.
- Our Bodies: The men work out at a local gym to get their physical bodies back in shape to combat the physical affects that their addictions have caused.
- Our Hearts: We offer biblical based classes to help change the hearts of the men from their will to God’s Will for their lives.
The men hold classes for half a day, and work the other half day, for our lawn care and landscaping company, called RCO LawnScape, to help offset the costs for being in the program. We feel that this accomplishes two things:
- It helps teach the men a sense of responsibility and work ethic.
- It gives the men a sense of “paying their way” for the program.
There are not many addicts that can afford to take a whole year off of life and dedicate it to Christ so that they may be truly free. We have a very rigorous screening process that the men must go through in order to come into the SKILL Program, and the potential student must be willing to give it all up and fall under the submission and authority that God has placed over them.
